General Fitness Assessment

Marathon Physical Therapy: Pilates, Health and FitnessIncludes basic fitness measurements: resting heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, cardiovascular fitness.

Yoga

Yoga Classes at Marathon: Marathon is pleased to offer small group yoga classes at the Norton clinic. This class is ideal for all those looking to improve body awareness, strength and flexibility.

Marathon Physical Therapy: Pilates, Health and FitnessPrivate Yoga Training: Design a personalized practice to meet your individual needs, whether it’s to learn the basic poses or take your practice to a deeper level to train for a race. Individual sessions by appointment only.

Pilates

Marathon Physical Therapy: Pilates, Health and FitnessPrivate Sessions: Utilizing the Pilates apparatus: Tower Bar, Cadillac Table, Chair, and Reformer, private Pilates sessions improve core stabilization, posture and correct dysfunctional movement patterns. Individual sessions are a great way to take your training to the next level; whether you’re a novice or an elite athlete! Individual sessions by appointment only.

Group Sessions include:

  • Beginners: This class will utilize both mat and apparatus based Pilates exercise to focus on learning and fine-tuning your ability to isolate and control your core stabilizers.
  • Intermediate: This class will utilize the Tower Bar, Cadillac Table, Chair, Reformer, and Barrel, expanding your ability to utilize your core stabilizers with more challenging movements in a quick paced class.
  • Mat: This class is floor based focusing on the fundamental principles of Pilates: core stabilization, movement integration, breathing, and rib alignment. With a limited class size, clients receive hands on care that allow them to maximize their potential.
  • Pre/Postnatal classes: This class will utilize Mat, Ball, Flex Ring, and Resistance Bands for core and total body toning during your pregnancy. With a focus on the core stabilizers, you will develop the coordination and strength needed to maintain a healthy body before delivery.

Run Club

Get in great shape, train for a 5K, or a 1/2 marathon this season.  This program is great for first timers and seasoned veterans. Not only will you have a lot of fun, but you will get a ton of great stuff too!

  • Weeks of fun training to keep you motivated and in shape

Learn To Run

We provide a fun, safe, and challenging environment where athletes are educated on preparation for running, proper techniques, and are directed on how to address individual strengths and weaknesses. 

The 8 week camp will include dynamic warm ups, training runs, cool downs, flexibility training, strength work, injury prevention, and core work.  There will also be fun activities, short informational sessions, and each camper will receive a t-shirt and water bottle.

Cost: $99 per student for 8 week session

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Exercise Physiologists are available to provide personalized exercise routines based on your needs and goals. Whether you are currently participating in fitness activities or are new to exercise, ensure your success with an individualized exercise program.

Classes & Courses

  • Aquatic Therapy

    January 4-February 22:
    Newton clinic

    This eight week program is taught by Physical Therapists of Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and is designed for all patients, including those recovering from total knee replacement and hip replacement, and requiring general strengthening. Class will include warm-up, strengthening exercises, aerobic conditioning, stretching, and cool down.

  • Intro to the Pelvic Floor

    February 4 – March 31:
    Newton clinic
    Norwood clinic

    Join Women’s Health Physical Therapists of Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine as they teach an informative, educational class about pelvic floor function and dysfunction. Learn to identify muscles and bony structures as well as understanding appropriate exercises for optimal rehabilitation.
